Sales Manager, Broker - (2000000M)

Job Purpose and Key responsibilities

Job purpose

The jobholder is responsible for brokers, maintain broker relationships, and secure business as per budget. They will generate and distribute profitable Britam Rwanda products and business as well as ensure good working relationships with brokers. The role will report to the Head of Business Development.

Key responsibilities

Drive sales and achieve targets as defined under the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and Personal Scorecard (PSC);
Proactively identify and work with Brokers to achieve specific targets and contribute to overall portfolio growth;
Develop a sound understanding of the Broker business to identify product and service opportunities and to assist Brokers in running a better business aligned to the company�s offerings;
Conduct Broker Market Education Program sessions as well as attend Broker and industry functions representing Britam;
Meet with Brokers to educate them on our service proposition and products and conduct regular, planned sales calls with structured objectives and outcomes;
Monitor sales pipeline to ensure budgets are achieved and initiate planned activities to rectify when necessary;
Manage and leverage internal relationships to deliver a comprehensive, competitive and quality service experience to broker businesses;
Identify and create partnerships with all licensed brokers in order to sell insurance products through the brokers;
Manage relationships of key accounts ;
Communicate brokers� expectations and provide insights back to the business to deliver competitively on a product or process;
Ensure prompt follow-up on renewals to ensure that the prescribed retention ratio is achieved;
Participate in product development and delivery for right fit of products;
Carry out market intelligence aimed at identifying new business opportunities and .[lop strategies in consultation with relevant departments;
Prospecting and implementing value proposition to retain and grow distribution channel and client relationships;
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly as well as accurate reports;
Support marketing and promotional activities;
Facilitate Team working and knowledge sharing;
Deliver on performance requirements as defined in the departments� strategy map, balanced scorecard and Personal Scorecard.

Internal Relationships:
1) Accountable to the Head of Business Development;
2) Directly responsible for staff working under this position ie. Business Development Officer - Broker; and
3) Required to liaise and work closely with the other business heads as may be necessary.

External Relationships:
1) Regulatory Authorities.
2) Insurance sector players.
3) Intermediaries.
4) Britam customers.
5) Banks.
Knowledge, experience, and qualifications required

A Bachelor�s Degree in Business or Social Sciences; a diploma in Sales & Marketing will be an added advantage.
At least 5 years� relevant working experience, preferably with brokers or in a financial services reputable company.
Experience in leading and managing a team in achieving and exceeding stated objectives;
Computer Literacy in MS Office Suite of packages.
Knowledge of customer focus and orientation
Ability to manage conflicting priorities and demands; with a strong passion to succeed and excel.
Decision making �the ability to make strategic decisions in a timely and effective manner.
High moral, ethical standing and is highly motivated.
