A young woman named Nyamanoro<\/strong>, from Ndondo in Bijombo<\/strong>, who had recently been arrested and jailed for allegedly plotting to assassinate leaders of the Twirwaneho<\/strong> group using deceit, has been released.<\/em><\/p>\n

Nyamanoro was pardoned and released on Friday, the 29th<\/strong>, after spending two days in detention<\/strong> in Mikenke<\/strong>, where she was taken after being apprehended on her return from Ndondo in Bijombo. Reports claim she had been sent by individuals close to President F\u00e9lix Tshisekedi\u2019s regime<\/strong> to obtain phone numbers<\/strong> of some Twirwaneho leaders in Minembwe<\/strong>, especially those of Brigadier General Sematama<\/strong>, known as Intare-Batinya<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Sources confirm she had even received a reward<\/strong> for retrieving these numbers, though the exact nature of the reward was not disclosed. Her release has stirred controversy\u2014some believe the investigation cleared her of wrongdoing<\/strong>, while others argue that Twirwaneho leaders forgave her<\/strong> and decided to set her free.<\/p>\n

Nyamanoro hails from Kajembwe<\/strong>, a locality in Bijombo Groupement, Uvira Territory<\/strong>\u2014an area under the control of Gumino<\/strong>, a military rebel group led by Nyamusaraba<\/strong>, known to collaborate with the Kinshasa government<\/strong>. This region is also monitored by Congo\u2019s FARDC<\/strong> and Burundi\u2019s FDNB<\/strong> forces.<\/p>\n

At the time of her arrest, she was reportedly found in possession of contact details<\/strong> of Gumino members, suggesting that she had ties with them<\/strong>, reinforcing suspicions that the Kinshasa government may have used Gumino<\/strong> to assign her this mission.<\/p>\n

The government\u2019s interest in Twirwaneho leaders\u2019 phone numbers<\/strong> is believed to be part of an effort to launch drone strikes<\/strong> against them, as was the case in February<\/strong>, when Michel Rukunda Makanika<\/strong>, the former top leader of Twirwaneho, was eliminated in a drone strike<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
