On Friday, July 11, 2025<\/strong>, a ceremony was held at the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda<\/strong> to commemorate the 98th anniversary<\/strong> of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA)<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

The event was presided over by Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, GAO Wenqi<\/strong>, alongside the Military Attach\u00e9 at the Chinese Embassy in Kigali<\/strong>, Senior Captain (Navy) LI Dayi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Rwandan Defence Forces (RDF)<\/strong> were represented by Maj. Gen. Alex Kagame<\/strong>, Commander of the Reserve Forces.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, Sr. Capt. (Navy) LI Dayi<\/strong> highlighted that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping<\/strong>, the PLA has continued to follow China\u2019s national defense policy and the path of peaceful development<\/strong>, playing a key role in protecting national sovereignty, security, and development interests<\/strong>, while also contributing to global peace and security<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He added that China-Rwanda relations have reached their historical peak<\/strong>, stating that China is ready to deepen cooperation and friendship with Rwanda<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On his part, Maj. Gen. Kagame<\/strong> praised the PLA for the tremendous progress it has achieved, emphasizing that the RDF and PLA share common historical backgrounds and values<\/strong>, as both forces were born out of liberation struggles to restore dignity and self-determination to their people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

He affirmed Rwanda\u2019s commitment to expanding cooperation and military ties<\/strong> between RDF and PLA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
