{"id":42802,"date":"2021-12-09T10:32:43","date_gmt":"2021-12-09T10:32:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.bwiza.com\/2021\/12\/09\/rib-arrests-woman-suspected-of-killing-own-infant\/"},"modified":"2025-02-25T19:17:08","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T17:17:08","slug":"rib-arrests-woman-suspected-of-killing-own-infant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bwiza.com\/?p=42802","title":{"rendered":"RIB arrests woman suspected of killing own infant"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) has arrested a woman from Kanama sector in Rubavu district over allegedly strangling to death her child aged two years and half.<\/p>\n<p>The incident took place in the night of 6th December 2021 in Nyamuremure village, Mahoko cell of Kanama sector.<\/p>\n<p>It is said that neighbors heard the child crying and rushed for rescue but their efforts ended up in vain as they found him dead upon arrival.<\/p>\n<p>The Executive Secretary of Kanama sector, Honor\u00e9 Mugisha has revealed that the suspected woman is held in nearby detention facility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is true that the woman suspected of killing own child is detained at Kanama RIB Post,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>It is reported that the woman had attempted to kill the child several times where she would be arrested and released later.<\/p>\n<p>Upon conviction, the suspect is liable to life imprisonment as per article 107 of the Law No 68\/2018 of 30\/08\/2018 determining penalties for murder crimes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) has arrested a woman from Kanama sector in Rubavu district over allegedly strangling to death her child aged two years and half.
