The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Accountant. The position is based at our new Facility named Ellen DeGeneres Campus of Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, located at Kinigi in Musanze, Rwanda. The successful candidate will join a team of over 130 staff working at the Fossey Fund\u2019s field sites in Rwanda. <\/p>\n
Reports to the Finance Officer<\/p>\n
Job Overview<\/p>\n
As an Accountant, the employee will integrate the current administration and finance team that supports the increasing activities of the campus and the field. <\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Enter financial transactions into QuickBooks software.
\nKeep the petty cash books.
\nPrepare cash counting and reconciliation on weekly basis.
\nOrganize cash deposits and withdrawals.
\nFollow up on all bank transactions and data recording procedures monthly.
\nAnalyze different general ledger accounts regularly.
\nCollate bank statements on monthly basis.
\nProvide support to safe keeping of internal expenses in the organization.
\nEvaluate current methods and processes and assist in upgrading these processes
\nOrganize the filing, scanning and attaching the monthly supporting documents to their respective transactions in Quick Books
\nAssist audit teams in evaluating and assessing the accounting systems.
\nPerform any other tasks requested by the employer.
\nDeclare taxes when due.
\nOther duties as required
\nQualifications<\/p>\n
We are looking for a motivated individual with accounting skills to join our team and make the new campus\u2019 facilities management system fully functional.<\/p>\n
The ideal candidate will have:<\/p>\n
Bachelors\u2019 degree in Accounting or Management fields.
\nA minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting.
\nCapable of using the QuickBooks software.
\nStrong organizational skills and efficient management of multiple tasks and priorities.
\nCapable of working under pressure and working in a multicultural environment.
\nAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
\nAbility to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
\nFlexibility and ability to work long hours;
\nFluent in English and working knowledge of French, both written and verbal.
