{"id":49341,"date":"2022-07-04T08:22:38","date_gmt":"2022-07-04T08:22:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.bwiza.com\/2022\/07\/04\/investigation-starts-in-us-as-rwanda-ruling-party-vice-chairman-s-son-dies\/"},"modified":"2025-02-25T19:09:50","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T17:09:50","slug":"investigation-starts-in-us-as-rwanda-ruling-party-vice-chairman-s-son-dies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bwiza.com\/?p=49341","title":{"rendered":"Investigation starts in US as Rwanda ruling party vice-chairman&#8217;s son dies mysteriously"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The investigation into the cause of the death of the US-based son of Rwandan politician Christophe Bazivamo, is expected to last one week, The New Times has learnt. <\/p>\n<p>Bazivamo, who is the vice chairman of the ruling Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF-Inkotanyi), is also the Deputy Secretary General of the East African Community.<\/p>\n<p> The 23-year-old Bruce Nshuti Hirwa was found dead on the morning of Wednesday, June 29, near a building of the University of Arkansas in the United States of America where he was a student.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cWe are waiting for the autopsy examination and an investigation report that will be issued by the US Police. I suppose it will take about a week,\u201d Bazivamo told The New Times on Saturday, July 2.<\/p>\n<p> According to reports, on the night of Tuesday, June 28, Nshuti was with his fellow students, talking to each other and having a good time, after which they all retired to sleep at around 10pm.<\/p>\n<p>However, in the morning of Wednesday at around 9am, he was found dead at one of the buildings of the university, a very short distance from where he used to reside.<\/p>\n<p>According to his father, Nshuti did not have any health problems.<\/p>\n<p>Bazivamo is the current EAC Deputy Secretary General in charge of Productive and Social Sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his appointment as Deputy Secretary General, Bazivamo was a Member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).<\/p>\n<p>He has also held various ministerial positions in Rwanda, including Minister for Lands, Environment, Forestry, Water and Mines, Minister of Local Government and Minister for Agriculture and Animal Resources among others.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The investigation into the cause of the death of the US-based son of Rwandan politician Christophe Bazivamo, is expected to last one week, The New Times has learnt.
