{"id":51130,"date":"2022-09-01T08:44:25","date_gmt":"2022-09-01T08:44:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.bwiza.com\/2022\/09\/01\/minister-bamporiki-s-case-hearing-date-unveiled\/"},"modified":"2025-02-25T19:09:08","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T17:09:08","slug":"minister-bamporiki-s-case-hearing-date-unveiled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bwiza.com\/?p=51130","title":{"rendered":"Minister Bamporiki&#8217;s case hearing date unveiled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Minister of State in the Ministry of Youth and Culture, Edouard Bamporiki, is set to appear before Nyarugenge Intermediate Court on September 16, this year.<\/p>\n<p>Bamporiki was suspended from the cabinet on May 5 and placed under house arrest following allegations of his involvement in corruption.<\/p>\n<p>Harrison Mutabazi, the Spokesperson of the Judiciary confirmed to the TNT that, \u201cThe case hearing is set for September 16 at Nyarugenge Intermediate Court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On August 30, Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) announced that they transferred Bamporiki&#8217;s case file to prosecution on July 07.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecution also confirmed details of the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is suspected for having committed the crime of soliciting and receiving illegal benefit (corruption),\u201d Faustin Nkusi, the spokesperson of the prosecution told The New Times but refused to divulge more details about the case.<\/p>\n<p>RIB had preferred to charge Bamporiki with soliciting, accepting or offering illegal benefit, a crime provided for and punishable by article 04 of the law on fighting against corruption.<\/p>\n<p>Following his suspension on May 5, Bamporiki went on Twitter and made an apology saying that he had indeed committed a crime of corruption and he pleaded with the president to forgive him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former Minister of State in the Ministry of Youth and Culture, Edouard Bamporiki, is set to appear before Nyarugenge Intermediate Court on September 16, this year.
