{"id":52177,"date":"2022-10-05T09:28:52","date_gmt":"2022-10-05T09:28:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.bwiza.com\/2022\/10\/05\/prince-kid-s-case-hearing-begins-today\/"},"modified":"2025-02-25T19:07:25","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T17:07:25","slug":"prince-kid-s-case-hearing-begins-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bwiza.com\/?p=52177","title":{"rendered":"Prince Kid&#8217;s case hearing begins today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nyarugenge Intermediate Court, has today on October 5, started hearing in substance the trial of Dieudonne Ishimwe commonly known as \u2018Prince Kid\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Ishimwe, the CEO of Rwanda Inspirational Backup, the company that organised the Miss Rwanda beauty pageant, is pinned on two charges- which are soliciting or offering sexual favours, and harassment.<\/p>\n<p>Ishimwe was arrested on April 26 over charges related to sexual abuse towards contestants of the Miss Rwanda beauty pageant on various occasions. He appeared before the court for the first time on May 11.<br \/>\nHis trial has been held in camera (closed to the public); a decision that came after the judge said that the dossier includes elements that can endanger public morals.<\/p>\n<p>However, during the bail ruling on the appeal that took place on June 3, the judges briefly pointed out some key factors presented by both sides.<\/p>\n<p>These included text messages and voices presented by the prosecution, and these were pinning Ishimwe against crimes he is suspected of.
