In Harare, Zimbabwe, three women allegedly working as prostitutes, along with a married man whose wife is pregnant, were caught having sex in public at night in the Southlea Park area.
According to the H-Metro newspaper, the individuals were apprehended on June 9, 2025, around 9 PM, after police received a tip-off.
Police arrived at the scene led by Constable Precious Manyimbiri, working with Sergeant Dohwe and two other officers. They found the group engaged in a sexual act.
Those arrested are Mellisa Mapanga (23), Rutendo Joseph (27), Elsie Mupesa (22), and Takura Pedzisai (35). The women admitted to being sex workers as their source of income.
When brought before the Mbare Magistrates Court, all four pleaded guilty to public indecency. Judge Tatenda Mukurunga fined each woman $50, or 45 days in jail if they fail to pay. Pedzisai was fined $100, due to the aggravating factor of his pregnant wife.
The judge reminded the public that such indecent behavior in public spaces will not be tolerated, urging citizens to respect cultural values and protect the dignity of shared environments.
