Rwandan artist Ngabo Médard Jobert, popularly known as Meddy, led worship during a powerful prayer concert that concluded the Rwanda Convention USA, held in Dallas, Texas.

The event, held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, was named the USRCA Prayer Breakfast.

It opened with a praise and worship team whose songs ushered many into a spirit of prayer and devotion.

Meddy, who had been eagerly awaited by the crowd, stepped on stage and expressed his joy at being able to sing for God in public once again, noting that it had taken him a long and difficult journey to get there.

He said:

“I’m happy to be here today, it’s an honor. It’s been a long journey in my life. It’s not usual for me to publicly speak about Jesus—Glory to God.”

He thanked Apostle Dr. Paul Gitwaza, the founder of Zion Temple, calling him a true servant of God who played a crucial role in his spiritual journey.

“I grew up in Zion Temple. Everything that transformed my life started there.”

The singer performed some of his most beloved gospel songs, known in churches and Christian gatherings, including: Ntacyo Nzaba, Holy Spirit, Niyo Ndirimbo, Arampagije Yesu, Uri Imana Mana, Sinzava Aho Uri, among others.

He also revisited a song titled Ungirira Ubuntu, which he wrote while still in high school. He confessed that he never thought he would go back to composing gospel music.

“I thought that was the only gospel song I’d ever write. Yet here I am again.”

Meddy urged the youth attending the prayer breakfast to remain strong in their faith, always remember God in everything they do, and he also gave thanks for the country of Rwanda and its leadership.
