Microsoft Unveils AI That Diagnoses Better Than Doctors

Microsoft has unveiled a new Artificial Intelligence technology called MAI-DxO (Microsoft AI Diagnostic Orchestrator), which has demonstrated exceptional capabilities in diagnosing diseases—outperforming even expert doctors.

In a trial using clinical cases from the New England Journal of Medicine, this AI provided correct answers 85.5% of the time, while 21 doctors from the UK and the US managed to achieve only 20% accuracy.

MAI-DxO uses a unique approach that analyzes symptoms, asks questions like a real doctor, and provides medical advice based on extensive medical knowledge. This technology is designed to assist doctors, reduce unnecessary tests, and minimize medical errors.

Although this AI has not yet been deployed in hospitals, Microsoft says it is a major step forward in integrating computer intelligence into healthcare—but insists that it is not meant to replace doctors, rather to support them.

This innovation could significantly transform the future of medicine, especially in diagnosing serious illnesses, reducing costs, and increasing global confidence in medical care.
