On Thursday, July 3, joint initiatives by the Rwandan Police, Rwanda Defence Force, East African Community (EAC) and partners officially ended, aimed at promoting welfare and development.
These projects, spanning three months across Rwanda, highlighted the theme:
“Rwandan citizens and security forces celebrating 31 years of Liberation and 25 years of Police–Public partnership,” and culminated in the fifth annual EAC‑CIMIC Week—Military–Civilian cooperation week.
Key achievements included:

41,868 healthcare services delivered

70 homes constructed and handed to vulnerable families

13 bridges built to improve mobility and trade

10 Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers established

Support to 33 cooperatives staffed by ex‑rehabilitated individuals
Since June 29, troops from Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda took part. Specialists from these nations provided medical care—internal medicine, maternal health, pediatrics, orthopedics, and dental services. Additional efforts included solar power installations, water tanks, home finishing, tools for vulnerable homes, and equipment for motorcycle taxi operators.

In Kayonza District, Gen. Mubarakh Muganga, Kayonza Mayor John Bosco Nyemazi, and Police CP George Rumanzi and his team inaugurated a modern water spring in Ndego sector, which will provide clean water to 3,000+ households.

In Eastern Province at Ngoma Hospital, Health Minister Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana led a ceremony marking the joint Rwanda–EAC medical outreach that reached over 2,400 patients.

In Western Province, Internal Security Minister Dr. Vincent Biruta handed over houses for vulnerable families in Gatumba sector, Ngororero District.

In Northern Province (Rusorabuye sector, Burera District), IGP CG Felix Namuhoranye, alongside local officials, handed over 6 houses to needy families.

In Kigali, Brig. Gen. Celestin Kanyamahanga, Deputy Mayor Fulgence Dusabimana, and Police CP Costa Habyara inaugurated the Kajeke bridge and drop-off point in Gasabo and Kicukiro.

DIGP Vincent Sano, accompanied by Southern Province Governor Alice Kayitesi and EAC military representative Lt. Col Alex Mwingi Kalama, delivered over 400 helmets to moto-taxi drivers in Runda sector, Kamonyi District.

On Burera Lake’s Birwa Island, a boat was handed over to a transport cooperative to facilitate inter-island connectivity.

Minister of Defence Juvenal Marizamunda officially handed over 10 homes to vulnerable families in Cyivugiza village, Muko sector, Musanze District.
