From Monday, June 9 to Thursday, June 12, Rwanda is hosting the second African Conference on Agricultural Technologies (ACAT).

This conference is expected to help African countries share knowledge and experience in applying technology to agriculture under the theme: “Tech Solutions for the New Generation of Farmers and Livestock Keepers in Africa.”

ACAT 2025 brings together leaders from various sectors, innovators, politicians, researchers, and agri-tech experts to discuss modern agricultural technologies, showcase real-world results where they are applied well, and promote partnerships to advance agricultural development in Africa.

Goodluck Jonathan, former President of Nigeria, expressed delight at being among the esteemed guests, stating: “As we meet again, I call on participants, investors, government representatives, development partners, and other stakeholders to join forces in harnessing the power of knowledge.”

He went on to say that ACAT is no longer just a conference but a reminder to Africans of their capacity to unlock all opportunities in farming and livestock through smart investment and stakeholder collaboration.

Dr. Canisius Kanangire, Director of the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF), the organizer of the conference, said holding it in Rwanda marks another significant step toward accelerating tech-driven agricultural progress in Africa.

He said: “Two years ago, we launched this conference in Nairobi, Kenya, with discussions on the need for modern technologies in farming and livestock. The idea was simple: scale up technology, and results are already visible.”

The Rwandan government, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI), welcomed the delegates, wishing them a pleasant stay and a fruitful, memorable experience in the country.
