The Ministry of Health has announced that the country is currently experiencing a rise in climate‑related illnesses, including COVID‑19.
This was stated by Health Minister Dr Sabin Nsanzimana on his X platform.
He wrote, “Hello! As we transition from dry season to the colder season, there is an increase in illnesses associated with climate change.”
Referring to respiratory infections, the Health Ministry noted that among them are those caused by influenza and COVID‑19, and urged Rwandans to avoid transmission and maintain hygiene .
Besides COVID‑19, the Ministry also reported a rise in malaria cases, urging citizens to combat mosquito breeding and get tested early.
