Police in Harare, Zimbabwe have arrested Amanda Chizanga Chakanyuka, aged 26, for allegedly kidnapping her ex-boyfriend, Linos Gapanga, 38, and forcing him into unprotected sexual intercourse under claims of removing a witchcraft curse.
According to Zimbabwean media, Amanda went to Linos’ home in Glen View on Saturday, July 12, 2025, accompanied by five unidentified men. The group allegedly kidnapped Linos and took him to Machipisa Pink Lodge.
Gapanga reported being beaten, then locked in a room with Amanda, where he was coerced into sex. Afterwards, they allegedly stole $142 and his bank cards.
Police confirmed Amanda’s arrest, though the five men are still at large. The victim was taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital, where he was found with facial and rib injuries, and is now demanding justice.
The case has sparked outrage on social media, with many describing it as spiritual-based sexual abuse.
