Canadian rapper Tory Lanez was rushed to the hospital after being assaulted by a fellow inmate in prison.
According to U.S. media outlets including TMZ, the 32-year-old artist was attacked on Monday, May 12, 2025, while in the recreational yard of the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi.
Eyewitnesses say he sustained injuries, but they were not life-threatening. The motive behind the altercation is still under investigation.
Tory Lanez is currently serving a 10-year sentence for shooting rapper Megan Thee Stallion in 2020 following a party altercation that reportedly involved Kylie Jenner.
During the trial, Megan Thee Stallion testified that Lanez shot her in the foot while telling her to “dance.”
The prison administration has yet to issue an official statement regarding Lanez’s safety or the identity of the inmate involved in the incident.
