Around noon this Saturday, a tragic accident occurred in Kigali City, at the well-known Nyabugogo Bus Station.
A passenger vehicle, reportedly operating on Kigali routes, crashed into a building where the Zebra transport company sells tickets.
Eyewitnesses said the bus lost its brakes, hitting both pedestrians and the wall of the building, which collapsed on some people inside.
Rwanda National Police, via a post on X (formerly Twitter), confirmed they quickly arrived on the scene to start investigations and determine the cause of the accident.
Although no official figures have yet been released regarding the number of injured or dead, witnesses at the scene say that some people lost their lives.
Ambulances quickly arrived and rushed the injured to hospital.
Police say they are still investigating the incident and gathering detailed information.
