Rayon Sports has signed defender Musore Prince Michel, who previously played for Vital’O FC in Burundi.
His signing was confirmed on Saturday, when he inked a two-year contract.
However, his transfer sparked controversy after Mucyo Antha Biganiro, a former sports journalist now working as a football agent, expressed concerns about Musore’s ability.
Speaking on Radio O, Mucyo said Musore is not at the level required to help Rayon Sports, comparing him unfavorably to local players such as Ishimwe Christian. He stated: “Rayon Sports is going to suffer. This player is far behind compared to local talents.”
Mucyo, who is known for facilitating player transfers between clubs, urged Rwandan teams to prioritize scouting quality local talent rather than relying heavily on foreign markets that bring little change.
Rayon Sports continues its rebuilding process after hiring a new head coach and is also reported to have reached a two-year agreement with Mosengo Tansele.
