Ukraine has launched a major drone attack on a military factory located in Izhevsk, central Russia—over 1,000 km from the Ukrainian border.

The factory, known as the Kupol Electromechanical Plant, manufactures weapons such as Tor missiles, radar systems, and anti-aircraft guns.

The strike killed three people and injured 45 others, six of them critically, according to authorities from Russia’s Udmurtia region.

Footage posted on social media showed explosions above the plant’s buildings, followed by thick smoke rising into the sky.

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) claimed responsibility, saying two long-range drones traveled 1,300 km to reach the target. The goal was to reduce Russia’s war production capacity and demonstrate that no military infrastructure inside Russia is safe.

This was the second attack on the same facility since November, though the previous one caused no casualties.

While Ukraine launched this strike, Russia retaliated by firing 537 missiles and projectiles on Ukraine over the weekend, hitting cities like Kyiv and Lviv.
