More than a month after his arrest at N’djili airport, the special adviser to Moà¯se Katumbi has still not been tried. According to the first elements of instruction communicated by military intelligence, Salomon Idi Kalonda would be in collusion with the leaders of the M23 but also with some Rwandan officers to try to destabilize the country and install at its head a leader of Katangese origin .
This Monday, July 10, Together for the Republic, reacted to these accusations during a press conference in Kinshasa hosted by its secretary general, Dieudonné Bolengetenge.
According to the investigators, the contact of a Rwandan officer found in Salomon Idi Kalonda’s phone dates back to 2018. At the time, the Opposition Rally was led by Félix Tshisekedi. And, it was during a meeting with Paul Kagame, then president of the African Union, that Salomon Idi Kalonda, who accompanied Moà¯se Katumbi to this meeting in which Félix Tshisekedi had taken part, obtained the contact of this general.
Regarding the “collusion” with M23 officials, Ensemble pour la République rejects all accusations, indicating that there is no evidence.
After two weeks spent in the premises of military intelligence, Salomon Idi Kalonda has since been detained in the military prison of Ndolo, in Kinshasa, pending the opening of his trial.
