While there had been reports in Rwanda suggesting that Memel Raouf Dao, a footballer from Burkina Faso, had already signed with APR FC, the Singida Black Stars club from Tanzania has announced that it has officially secured the player.

The CEO of Singida Black Stars, Omar Kaya, confirmed that the 21-year-old has signed a three-year contract. Kaya stated:

“It’s done, he signed with us for three years.”

When asked whether there was any link to the earlier reports claiming Raouf Dao had signed with APR FC, Kaya responded that he was unaware of that, emphasizing that the player now belongs to Singida Black Stars.

Raouf Dao, a player for Burkina Faso’s national team, had reportedly been in talks with Singida Black Stars for some time, and media in his home country had already indicated that negotiations were nearing completion as early as last month.

APR FC had recently stated that it was still looking to sign a forward to strengthen its attacking line, as confirmed by Brig. Gen. Deo Rusanganwa, the club’s president.
