During an event dubbed Hobe Night Meet & Greet held in the United States, artists The Ben, Kevin Kade, and Producer Element failed to appear as expected.
The event, organized by AfroHub Music in collaboration with Afrique Events, was meant to celebrate Rwanda’s Liberation Day on July 4, 2025.
More than 800 attendees expressed frustration and disappointment after paying significant sums — some tables costing up to $500 — only for the headline artists not to show up.
In a statement released by the organizers, they condemned the artists’ unprofessional conduct, stating that it disrespected the fans and fell short of professional standards. They apologized for the situation and promised to take strong corrective measures.
According to InyaRwanda, Element allegedly did not bring the outfit he wanted to wear on stage, while Kevin Kade reportedly did not have a microphone when he was ready to perform. The exact reason for The Ben’s absence remains unknown.
There is still hope the artists may perform at other events scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
