The prosecution at the high court of Huye is charging a 28 year old man suspected of burning a 40 year old woman who lived with him and their one year and a half old child by pouring a soucepan of hot food on them.
The General prosecutor’s office, says that “This crime was committed on May 27, 2023 at 6:30p.m in Nyabitare village, Bugari cell, Ntyazo sector in Nyanza District, at home where the woman had ran away from him because of a conflict.”
When interrogated, the suspect said that he poured the soucepan of hot food he had cooked on her and the baby, after they had argued and the wife had refused to return home where they lived.
The crime of willful wounding is punished with imprisonment of up to 15 years, as stipulated in article 121 of Law N068/2018 of 30/08/2018 which provides for crimes and punishment in general.
