Iran Accused of Breaking Ceasefire, Israel Threatens Retaliation

Israel’s Ministry of Defense has accused Iran of violating a ceasefire agreement just two hours after it was agreed upon under a deal brokered by Donald Trump and Qatar.

Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, stated that they will “respond with force” and carry out heavy strikes against Iran in Tehran. This follows Israeli claims that Iran fired rockets, although Tehran has firmly denied the allegations via state television.

Iran had announced it would uphold the ceasefire as long as Israel did. Tensions escalated when Iran launched missiles at a U.S. military base in retaliation for strikes against its nuclear research facilities last weekend. Qatar confirmed that all missiles were successfully intercepted.

Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, head of the Israeli Defense Forces, confirmed that Israel will “respond strongly” to what he described as Iran’s “serious error.”

Despite Israeli claims of rockets fired from Iran, Tehran denies sending any missiles toward Israel after the ceasefire agreement.

Iran’s top security council warned Israel and its allies that “any further aggression will be met with immediate response.”

This tense moment comes as both Israel and Iran accuse each other of violating the ceasefire.

Israel’s Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, also expressed outrage on X, saying “Tehran will pay.”

So far, services in Israel report no deaths or injuries, except for one man who was slightly hurt while seeking shelter.
