Rwandan model Kate Bashabe has strongly dismissed widespread social media rumors accusing her of intending to marry her dog. This comes after she celebrated her dog’s ninth birthday, an act some misinterpreted and used to spread offensive comments about her.
In a message shared on her social platforms, Bashabe expressed deep disappointment at those making baseless accusations. She said, “Let me ask you, and be honest — what kind of person seriously says I want to marry my dog? Are they even okay?”
She added that the love she has for her dog is pure and nothing more, and she will continue to care for it just as she always has. “I love dogs. I love them as dogs… I will never stop loving them, so get used to it,” she stated.
She called on people to respect her personal choices and stop misrepresenting or defaming her on social media just for attention. “If I’m aging, that’s my personal matter — it shouldn’t be your concern,” she added.
Kate Bashabe urged Rwandans to be mindful of the things they say about others, especially on social media, warning that such comments can have serious consequences on someone’s well-being.
