A 65-year-old man, Tuyisenge Theoneste, residing in Kigina Sector, Kirehe District, is accused of serious crimes including sexual assault of women and animal abuse.
Reports from local residents and authorities confirm that this elderly man is suspected of abusing three women, including one believed to have mental health issues.
According to BTN TV, Tuyisenge was caught in the act of abusing a goat. After being caught, he was handed over to the Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) where he admitted the crime and apologized. It is reported that he paid a fine of 150,000 Rwandan Francs for the act of abusing the goat.
The Executive Secretary of Kigina Sector, Uwanyirigira Esperance, confirmed the news, noting that the man had been previously arrested but released due to lack of witnesses.
Currently, residents of the area remain concerned that this man might also sexually assault their daughters.
