Muhammadu Buhari, the former President of Nigeria, passed away this Sunday at the age of 82.
Buhari, who led Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, died at a hospital in London, United Kingdom, where he had been receiving medical treatment.
In 2015, Buhari defeated then-President Goodluck Jonathan in a historic election. However, following his victory, he disappeared from public view, taking six months to form a government.
Before his democratic election, Buhari had previously ruled Nigeria as a military leader, having seized power in a military coup in 1982.
