While the Rwanda National Team, Amavubi, continues training in Algeria in preparation for two friendly matches, two players — Imanishimwe Djabel and Rafael York — are absent from the squad for different reasons.
Imanishimwe Djabel, who previously played for USM Khenchela in Algeria, has been banned from entering the country for five years by Algerian courts. This is due to overstaying by 12 days beyond the period granted on his visa and leaving Algeria without legal authorization. As a result, he was denied entry when he attempted to return for national duty with the Amavubi team.
Rafael York, who plays for Zed FC in Egypt, also did not respond to the invitation from FERWAFA. However, he has not yet explained the reason for his absence.
Amavubi is set to play two friendly matches against Algeria: the first on June 5 in Constantine, and the second on June 9 in Algiers. These games are part of preparations for upcoming international competitions.
