Ugandan goalkeeper Ssebwato Nicholas says he has not yet decided which club he will play for next season, despite strong interest from Rayon Sports and Police FC.
Ssebwato was recently named the best goalkeeper of the 2024/25 Rwanda Premier League season, thanks to his dedication and skill shown at Mukura Victory Sports, where he helped the club finish in 5th place. Out of the 25 matches he played, he kept 13 clean sheets and provided two assists that led to goals.
In an interview with the media, Ssebwato revealed that his contract with Mukura VS has ended, and he has not personally negotiated with any new club yet, as that is being handled by his agent.
He said:
“There are many clubs interested in me, both in Rwanda and abroad. But I haven’t signed any contract yet. Everything is being managed by my representative.”
Rayon Sports is in the market for a new goalkeeper after Khadime Ndiaye’s contract expired, and he’s no longer considered first choice. Meanwhile, Police FC is also looking to strengthen its squad, as Onésime Rukundo’s contract has ended.
Ssebwato added that he would be happy to continue playing in Rwanda, but he prefers to evaluate all his options before making a decision.
