Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min has filed a complaint with South Korean police, accusing a woman of falsely claiming to be pregnant with his child in an attempt to extort a large sum of money.
According to South Korean media outlets such as Yonhap News Agency and The Korea Times, the woman, believed to be in her 20s, and a man in his 40s are under investigation for attempted fraud.
Son alleges the pair lied about the pregnancy to pressure him into paying them a significant amount of money to keep the matter quiet. He considers it a serious case of deception and blackmail.
Son’s legal team revealed that the woman first claimed she was pregnant in June 2024 and then began demanding large sums of money to stay silent.
Son Heung-min, 32, is not married and has no children. He has previously said he doesn’t plan to start a family or have children until after he retires from professional football, as he wants to fully dedicate himself to his career.
