In the context of tensions between the DRC and Rwanda, Daniel Shekomba, former candidate for the 2018 Congolese presidential election, believes that President FĂ©lix Tshisekedi’s “attacks” against his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame “are just a business political, to justify the failure of the government.
This physicist and business leader, who is not involved in the current electoral process, criticizes the scapegoat policy of blaming the rwandan president for Tshisekedi’s mismanagement.
According to Shekomba, it is not Rwanda which pushes Félix Tshisekedi to overrun the budget “by 9000% in the application of the budget allocated for the payment of his salary”.
“It is not because we insult Rwanda and Paul Kagame morning, noon and evening that we are going to solve the security and well-being problems of the Congolese, it is pure distraction. I look at what Tshisekedi does with DRC money, not crazy speeches,” he asserted.
M23 accuses Tshisekedi
The head of the political branch of the M23, Bertrand Bisimwa, for his part, accuses the Congolese president of “imposing” the war in Kivu, by sending thousands of young Kivutans to death for whom, he denounces, “ he has no political thoughts.”
For Bisimwa, this war “is electoralist”. Félix Tshisekedi, who intends to return for a second term at the head of the DRC, “dreams of a military victory on the eve of the electoral campaign and avoids being confronted with his own words”.
“However, it is important to note that the initiative of a war also implies the notion of responsibilities. It’s about fully and amply assuming the consequences, including those linked to the possibility of losing it,” he concluded.
