Tanzanian actress and former beauty queen Wema Sepetu has publicly addressed rumors of her death that recently spread on social media after an image circulated showing her as if she had passed away.
The photo, which resembled a breaking news screen from Millard Ayo TV, included the message:
“Wema Sepetu has died.”
However, Wema appeared in a video to confirm she is alive and well, strongly denouncing the person behind the hoax.
She said:
“They say I died? While I’m here speaking? Whoever did this, God is watching you. These are lies, and they hurt the people who love me.”
Her fans were shocked, with some calling the act cruel, while others said they were deeply frightened.
The beloved East African star condemned this type of behavior, saying that joking about death is unacceptable, and urging people to respect life and seek truth, instead of causing grief through falsehoods.
