Famous rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing two new charges, including human trafficking and engaging in prostitution, and is due to appear in court in New York in less than a month.

The new charges were publicly announced on Friday in a Manhattan court, and they are related to alleged criminal activities said to have occurred between 2021 and 2024 involving a different individual from the one previously mentioned.

Prosecutors claim that Diddy lured, trafficked, and coerced the person into engaging in sexual activities and prostitution.

Combs denies all the allegations, and his attorneys say these charges are based on consensual actions between individuals in a relationship, not on abuse.

“These are not new charges or new accusers,” his legal team told CBS News. “These individuals were in a consensual relationship with our client, and everything was consensual.”

In 2024, a grand jury had already indicted him on various charges including human trafficking, forcing people into prostitution, and torture.

Currently, Diddy faces five charges, with some of the most serious being related to being complicit in criminal activities, including allegations of kidnapping, drugging women, and coercing sex with firearms or threats.

These charges include incidents during a police raid at Diddy’s house in Los Angeles, where authorities found multiple items believed to be intended for group sexual activities (known as “freak offs”), including drugs and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil.

Sean Combs is one of the most successful rappers and entertainment moguls. He is also known by names such as Puffy, Puff Daddy, P Diddy, Love, or Brother Love. He has helped many artists gain fame, including Mary J. Blige and Notorious B.I.G., and has participated in major events such as MTV and VH1’s talent competitions.

Since being under investigation, Diddy has faced multiple lawsuits accusing him of rape, drug use, intimidation, and silencing those who speak out.

Today, he is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. His trial is set to begin on May 5, 2025.
