At a ceremony held in Hyderabad, India, Opal Suchata, representing Thailand, was crowned Miss World 2025, succeeding Krystyna Pyszkova from the Czech Republic.
This was the 72nd edition of the prestigious global beauty and talent competition, where Opal stood out for her beauty, intelligence, and deep understanding of compassion. She wore a white gown decorated with opal-like gemstones, explaining that the dress honored her project “Opal For HER”, which aims to empower women to change the world through kindness and courage.
Opal wrote on Instagram:
“This dress represents a journey of healing and resilience. Its design reflects women who choose hope over fear.”
While Thailand celebrates Opal’s victory, there is disappointment in India, as Nandini Gupta, the country’s representative, did not make it into the top 8, despite reaching the top 40 globally.
This marks the second consecutive year the Miss World competition is held in India, following last year’s event in Mumbai.
Now, Opal Suchata will represent the world’s youth in various humanitarian and women empowerment initiatives, continuing the legacy of past Miss World titleholders.
