Former President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Joseph Kabila Kabange, on Friday held talks with traditional leaders from the North Kivu province.

Kabila has been in Goma since last Sunday. He returned after a long period in exile, which began in 2023.

He met with these traditional leaders just a day after receiving religious leaders operating in North Kivu.

Sources also report that during this week, Joseph Kabila met with various politicians, including Corneille Nangaa, the coordinator of the Congo River Alliance, which includes the M23 movement.

Reports indicate that Kabila is continuing talks with people from various sectors as part of an effort to find ways to help the DRC overcome the ongoing crisis, which has led the country into a conflict with the M23 rebel group for more than three years.
