The rift between U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, former head of the Office of Management and Budget, took a new turn this Saturday, June 7, 2025.
The President sharply warned the South African–born mogul, who plans to support Democratic candidates in the upcoming election and leave Republicans behind, that there will be consequences.
Trump, who said he has “no plans” to speak with Musk—formerly a senior White House adviser until last month—publicly criticized Musk’s rejection of Trump’s signed tax plan.
Meanwhile, protesters clashed with police and ICE agents after many migrants were detained in Los Angeles. The White House deployed 2,000 National Guard troops in response to the unrest.
