As part of his nationwide tour, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guy Kabombo Muadiamvita, visited Kota-Koli, a training center for FARDC commandos located about 90 kilometers from Gbadolite, the capital of Nord-Ubangi Province.
During this visit, the Minister held a session with soldiers in training and reminded them of the army’s core principle:
“Never betray Congo.”
This talk, which took place last Friday, also touched on key national security issues, including foreign aircraft flying over Congolese airspace and the Mbororo pastoralists, who are believed to be infiltrated by armed groups from the Central African Republic, such as Seleka and Anti-Balaka.
Kabombo assured that these concerns would be addressed in the Council of Ministers, in coordination with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, according to the outlet 7sur7.cd.
The Minister also referenced a recent military cooperation agreement signed between DRC and the Central African Republic, emphasizing that the CAR had committed that
“It will never serve as a rear base for attacks against the DRC.”
Before visiting Kota-Koli, Kabombo led a security committee meeting in Gbadolite, and also visited Gemena in Sud-Ubangi, where he briefed military families, particularly wives of soldiers, on operations in Nord-Equateur.
His tour also included stops in Mbandaka, Boende, and Lisala, aiming to cover all military zones in the Grand Équateur region in order to hear local challenges and seek appropriate solutions.
