Beni: The president of the Association of people living with disabilities assassinated

The president of people living with disabilities in Beni (North Kivu) was shot dead this Friday, June 30, in his house by armed bandits .

Sources on site reported that this tragedy took place in Mulekera district.

According to the same sources, these thugs raided the parcel of the illustrious disappeared around 3 a.m. local time before asking him to open the door of his house.

Faced with his refusal to comply, these outlaws forced the door, then extricated the owner, before shooting him point blank and fleeing.

According to the mayor of Mulekera, high commissioner Dieudonne Ngongo, these armed men gave the impression of knowing their victim:

“The unidentified gunmen arrived at the victim’s home. They forced him out. They called him chief, it’s as if they knew him. As he refused to come out, they forced the door to enter. That’s what they did. When the gentleman came out, they shot him. For the moment, we have recovered the body and took it to the morgue.

Beni urban police spokesman Nasson Murara calls on the population to calm down.

He indicates that an investigation has been opened to find the perpetrators of this despicable act.

For their part, people living with disabilities in the city of Beni regret the disappearance of the man who was on the front line for the defense of their rights.

All salute his courage, his openness, his fight against begging by people living with disabilities; but also the integration of this vulnerable layer within the community and its self-care.
