The coalition of Congolese and Ugandan armed forces announces that it has killed another commander of the ADF rebels in the territory of Beni (North Kivu) in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo .
The news was relayed to the Beni press by the spokesperson for the said coalition in an information note sent to the editorial staff of 7SUR7.CD on Monday July 10, 2023.
“He is definitely identified, Abdou Masirika, one of the commanders of the Chalamanda camp, was killed during the reconnaissance and combat patrol at the weekend. Ms. Masika Florence and Masika, the daughter of Amuja Mbafumoja have been captured,” said Lieutenant-Colonel Mak Hazukay, spokesman for the joint FARDC-UPDF operations.
This officer informs that operations are continuing in order to restore the authority of the State in several villages of the territory of Beni.
The same weekend, three ADF were killed by elements of the joint FARDC-UPDF force in an ambush. That day, our source indicates, two rebel weapons and stolen citizen agricultural products were recovered.
Given the intensification of reconnaissance and combat patrols in the Mwalika valley, the coordination of joint FARDC-UPDF operations advises the population not to frequent the depth of the said valley.
