Akagera Management Company (AMC) is seeking a suitable candidate for the positions of Conservation Technology Officer at Akagera National Park. The candidate must be an enthusiastic, motivated and reliable individual.

Duties and Responsibilities of Conservation Technology Officer

Maintaining and upgrading Reporting applications.
Maintain high-quality function of control room reporting structures.
Up keeping, troubleshooting, and maintenance of communication backbone, radio system, and LoRa system.
Maintenance and up-keeping for the Earth Ranger situational awareness system
Maintenance and up keeping for Esri Reporting System
Internet system management
Implementation of new technologies for the park
Suitable candidates for the position of Conservation Technology Officer must meet the following criteria:

A Degree in ecology, park management, wildlife conservation, Information Sciences or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in ecology, conservation, wildlife management, technology, or relevant field
Fluent in English and/or French/Kinyarwanda
Not afraid of heights
Passion for Conservation and Wildlife
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and be flexible
Advanced knowledge of Computers, Software, applications, and Networking skills. This includes Microsoft Word, Excel, ArcGIS, Esri, Cybertracker, Mototrbo, and others
Advanced working knowledge of conservation database management and conservation monitoring systems
Experience with using conservation technologies
Outstanding and demonstrated leadership skills
Advanced knowledge of field tech equipment and advanced problem-solving skills
Hand-on mentality
A clean record of conduct (no convictions)
Prepared to live onsite
Physically fit and able to be in the field (to undergo fitness and medical annually)
Between 20 and 40 years of age.
Driver’s license of at least 3 years
