On Sunday, April 20, 2025, Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier Nduhungirehe, arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan for a three-day official visit.
He was welcomed by the Director General for Africa at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Rwandan Ambassador to Pakistan, and other senior officials.

Minister Nduhungirehe is in Pakistan at the invitation of the country’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar. The visit will run until April 22, 2025.
During his stay, Minister Nduhungirehe will hold bilateral talks with Senator Dar and meet with key members of Pakistan’s cabinet, as outlined by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan.
One of the highlights of the visit will be the official opening of Rwanda’s Embassy in Islamabad.
He is also expected to meet with Pakistani investors and business leaders to discuss opportunities for trade and investment in Rwanda.
This marks the first visit to Pakistan by a Rwandan Foreign Minister following the opening of embassies in both capitals—Islamabad and Kigali.
The visit is expected to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the two friendly nations, according to a statement by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
