In interviews to hire teachers who will teach in nursery, primary, secondary & technical scools, it’s said that there might be a non-transparency.

On Tuesday the 14th July 2020, the 35,000 teachers country wide started job interviews after their application for teaching in those schools.

This was after the government’s order to re-repeat due to a non transparency in the first session.

Rwanda Eduction Board( REB) that prepared those interviews said that around 28,000 teachers are required country wide.

One among those sat, from TTC Rubengera in Karongi district said to bwiza.com that during the interview of maths and physics they were only two but the surprise came when they found six on the winners list.

This candidate further added with confusions that how comes you sit on interview while two and you win six!! it’s unbelievable! where did they come from and from where they did the interview??

In general, teachers interview in Karongi were held on two sites, TTC Rubengera site was for those who will teach in secondary and in TTC while at GS Nyarubuye site was only for the ones who will occupy primary schools!

He further noticed that may be those who appeared on the list after might be the ones who were stopped already.

He further noticed that it’s so sad because those who didn’t appear on the interview list before are even the ones that were offered much marks while those who sat for, got less.

District eduction officer in Karongi district Hitumukiza Robert told bwiza that the district is far less concerned with the case as the interviews were prepared and given by REB, only the district was involved in showing the rooms where the interviews would be held.

He further added that 100% the district was totally not involved in giving interviews, except providing the rooms, so for more details, only REB would be questioned.

The Director General of REB, Dr. Irenée Ndayambaje advises the candidates to appeal to the ‘Marking Centres’, following the prescribed procedures. “The candidate should be advised to follow the procedures prescribed by the rules and regulations governing the examination. Keep in mind that appeals also have a basis and have a deadline. ” Dr. Irenée.
