Directors of studies (Dos) in high schools are unhappy for their Salaries in regard to the duties

Directors of studies country wide are requesting the ministry of education and Rwanda eduction board to revise on their salaries and match them with their duties.

It has been long, these Dos in high schools complaining about their salaries, what they reveal is that they are paid as the teachers they are in charge, and as sometimes they work as acting directors in their absence. they even stay at school during holidays to finalise well their duties, make lessons timetable and their follow up, teachers monitoring and many more.

One of the Dos who talked to Bwiza.com, said that “we have submitted our request to the ministry of education asking why we are paid as normal teachers and yet on program we are titled as vice directors, it has been long while submitted this request but in vain sofar.

The ministry understands the request as well as REB , they even promised us that it has been revised in the recent statute but nothing has changed.

These Dos revealed out that after submitting their case to the ministry of education, Minicofin and to the Parliament, they even wrote to the minister of education on her twitter account but in vain.

Director general of Rwanda Eduction board Dr. Irenee Ndayambaje talking to bwiza. com said that this Dos’ case is very well known and we are still finding out the means to caver it, hence the finance remains an obstacle but we do care and think of what to be done soon together with other cases.

Dr.Ndayambaje further added that despite this Dos’ case which we are looking for a sokution, there is even another case of primary schools not having vice- directors, laboratories bpersonnel, displine master especially in day- schools but promised an end of these cases as soon as we get means.

On telephone bwiza.com trying to talk to the minister of education Dr. Valentine Mujawamariya, she didn’t respond and even a short text sent to her wasn’t replied on the time of publishing.
