SENIOR OFFICER – PRODUCTS DEVELOPMENT
AB BANK Rwanda Plc. has been operating in Rwanda since January 2014. The bank provides a wide range of financial products and solutions that serve both retail and corporate clients. Notably, foremost to these offerings are the loan facilities that meet the needs and capacities of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
AB Bank Rwanda Plc is a member of an international network of commercial banks providing banking services to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and private individuals in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
To further facilitate the growth of our products offering and increase our client base, we are now seeking a motivated senior product development officer to join us.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the entire development cycle for all new and restructured products, services and channels based on a product road-map formulated by the bank senior management team with a high focus on digital finance products and services.
Develop processes, procedures, requirements, and specifications oriented on ensuring the superior user experience is built in all bank value propositions based on product development best practices and available customer insights to maximize product adoption and usage.
Monitor closely customer experience on all existing products using available complaints/feedback channels and report any defects that limit the adoption and usage to all business stakeholders for assistance in providing a timely fix.
Be the change management process lead for all new products, services, and channels development projects by keeping a direct and consistent link with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure awareness, buy-in, flawless execution and support at all stages of the projects lifecycle.
Use Work Breakdown Structures for all ongoing projects to share regular progress updates with the direct supervisor, IT department and Senior Management and timely escalate all issues/challenges that may negatively impact the quality of delivery and timelines for resolution support.
Maintain a direct relationship with the business department especially branch staff through product knowledge transfer trainings before market launch and continuously follow up on operational excellence indicators in order to identify and resolve potential functional defects they may arise.
Develop tools to report market trends, product positioning, competitors’ promotions, innovations and other financial market information to help identify potential areas for the development of new financial products and services.
Adhere to current compliance standards, product development processes and other service standards applicable in the bank.
All other tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor and the management team from time to time.
NECESSARY EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree – Business, Communication, IT or related field from a recognized institution.
Proven record of project management skills preferably in a position highly interfacing the IT department.
A minimum of 3 years of experience working as Senior Product Development Officer in a Telecom, Bank or FMCG.
Demonstrating excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda.
Having experience in developing digital financial services will be an important added value
Expertise and ability to work on multiple projects successfully.
