Prof Alexandre Lyambabaje, presented his resignation on the position of Vice-Chancellor of University of Rwanda (UR), the statement from Board of Directors confirms.
The statement says the interim VC is Prof. Nosa Egiebor, until another appointment.

Prof Lyambabaje was appointed one year ago, replacing Prof. Phillip Cotton who was at the helm for five years. The Search for the new VC began in 2020.
Born in 1960, Prof. Lyambabaje, among other academic qualifications, holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mathematics and a Doctorate in Mathematics from University de Rennes in France.
Prof. Lyambabaje has served in different capacities in government. In 1999, he was appointed Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education.
