The family of US based Kanyabutembo Virginie say they are in trouble of facing what they term injustice in Rwandan courts for their once wrote the letter to President Kagame regarding the matter yet their properties located in Rubavu are on sale by auction for the second time.
The auction was once halted by Gisenyi High Court on February 25, Kanyabutembo says “I need Kagame to save me, my six children, 11 grandchildren from this disaster of losing the house that I struggled to build within 17 years as a single woman.”

” I was given the plot of land by the government when I returned from DRC, I was alone even Rubavu leadership know that though they cannot speak it out. Rugamba Xavier, once my husband was not there, I raised our kids alone. But now I am in terrible pain to hear that the court are rewarding a share of my property to my husband.” Kanyabutembo narrated to this website.
Rugamba Dada Ferri, daughter to Kanyabutembo said they sent a letter to President Kagame because for four years, courts failed to be fair in the case. They believe no consideration of evidence and corruption is the cause of injustice towards them.
Rugamba Pacifique, the last born told this website that the auction is underway though they wrote to Supreme court on the case. He blames Musanze High Court of not basing on available evidences.
” I request President Kagame to intervene and save us from this injustice” Kanyabutembo said
During previous articles, we narrated how Rugamba Xavier and his son Tony Rugamba are involved in this case. His father registered the land under his name illegally though there is proof that he is single, not married to Kanyabutembo.
It is alleged once Rugamba Xavier who was drunk bragged to leave Kanyabutembo and her kids homeless.
