Expectations as Kagame hosts Gen Muhoozi in Kigali

President Paul Kagame laste weekend, hosted Lieutenant General, Muhoozi Kainerugaba the Senior Presidential Advisor in Charge of Special Operations and Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) Commander of Land Forces to discuss relations between Rwanda and Uganda.

Muhoozi, the first born son of Uganda’s President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni arrived at Kigali International Airport on Saturday morning. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by, among Brig Gen Willy Rwagasana, the Commandant of Republican Guard and the Spokesperson of Rwanda Defence Force, Col Ronald Rwivanga.

Lt Gen Muhoozi,47, met with Kagame to deliver a message from his counterpart of Uganda.

Following the visit, Rwandans and Ugandans expressed their concerns mainly on social media citing they expect the bilateral relations between two countries will be amended.

The two sister countries were not in good terms nearly four years. Uganda accusing Rwanda the espionage while the latter accuses the former of harboring dissidents. Both Kampala and Kigali dismissed the allegations.
