A yet to be identified soldier of DR Congo has been shot dead by Rwandan Police on Friday morning during the fire exchange he allegedly started by shooting on the border with Rwanda, commonly knonwn as petite barrière, in Rubavu, Western Rwanda.
Sources who preferred anonymity and our informant narrated to this newspaper that Congolese soldier entered Rwanda’s territory, shooting Rwandan policemen who were on duty at the border, wounding one.
” Congolese soldier entered Rwandan territory while shooting at Rwandan Police. He was shot once but he resisted. While he tried to shot again, those who were in hiding shot him in the head, the body now lies in the no man’s land.” the source said
BWIZA has learnt that due to the fire exchange, ” Rwandan police are not allowing the netizens to cross the border for the sake of their security while in DR Congo.”
The situation at the border may deteriorate as recently congolese attacked the border, pelting stones at Rwandan police, who remained calm.
Both Congolese and Rwandan security organs are yet to comment on the incident.
