Herman Manirareba, a resident from Kamonyi District In Rwanda South wrote to the parliament two years ago, seeking for revision of the Republic’s Constitution and enthrone President Paul kagame as a king of Rwanda but still in vain. The request letter was submitted to the chamber of deputy on May 12, 2018.
In the letter signed by Herman himself, reveals that the monarchy was ended by the white priest missionaries in partnership with the Belgium colonialists on January 18, 1961 in ‘Gitarama Coup’.
Herman further reveals that during that regime, the current President of the Rwanda was in exile in Uganda so after his return from the exile, he shouldn’t continue leading as President, a king instead, as set up by King Gihanga.
Herman compares the great act of stopping Genocide which was led by Paul Kagame to the Ruganzu II Ndoli’s country liberation from the foreigners after 11years of invasion.
The reason to be a king of Rwanda
Bwiza.com had an interview with Manirareba today on 25th June 2020. He revealed out that once President Kagame becomes a king, he can mostly reach the population ( a king is for the people). Once he becomes the king, he can several times reach the people.
He further noticed that a king could solve problems in public, so once he becomes a king, these courts runs would stop.
Herman reveals that since May 2018, he is still waiting the answer from the parliament. “Till now, I haven’t got the reply from the parliament, I have been waiting since then, I have used much tickets following it up but still in vain.” He adds.
He continues saying that he thought of setting up a party named ‘Abanyamurage’ to raise up his idea louder than the letter. He further added that he made the ‘Online Declaration’ of the party on June 22. He is still looking for the final necessary documents and followers required.
The constitution of 2003 revised in 2015 in it’s article 98 states that The president of the Republic is the only country head leader. In it’s 3rd paragraph of article 175 concerning that the revision of constitution regarding the President’s mandate is confirmed through referendum after being voted by all the parties in the parliament.
The History shows that HE Paul Kagame is the 6th president to lead Rwanda since the kingdom turned to the republic in 1961. The last king to rule Rwanda was Kigeli V Ndahindurwa who was enthroned in 1959.
