World Relief Rwanda (WRR) is an International Non-Government Organization whose mission is to empower the local church to serve the most vulnerable. Purpose of the Job:
The position holder will provide effective implementation, coordination and supervision of nutrition-sensitive social protection interventions with the aim of improving the health status of targeted beneficiaries receiving case management services (children, pregnant and lactating women, EPW households) in Mucaca pilot cell from Burera district, including managing day to day activities, documentation, monitoring and evaluation. He/she will take lead in this pilot project at his district: work with other staff at the cell level to coach, mentor and build the capacity of an existing cell, village, and sector leaders and equip them to implement and sustain this model.
In close collaboration with other staff, the NASPO will help to increase financial access leading to entrepreneurial activity and improved household well-being.
Specific Job Duties:
Equip the existing local structures leaders and ensure effective implementation and coordination of the MNSSPI’s 5 strategies and approaches to the delivery of integrated programmes to the under-five children, women, and poorest households according to plan
Joint review program reporting with existing local structures, identify issues in the implementation and recommend and implement approaches to strengthen project implementation by community leaders,
Ensure project related queries raised by beneficiaries (Children, women, poorest households) are addressed timeously and maintain and update regularly the beneficiaries database at the cell level,
Follow up on the results of nutrition-sensitive social protection activities and interventions implemented at quarterly basis
Prepare and update supporting documents (work plan, cash flow projections, training plans) to ensure strong project implementation,
Manage the budget and ensure all spending is transparent and provides value for money,
Mentor and train cell, village, and sector leaders and equip them to implement and sustain the case management model for the most vulnerable households at the community level.
Support community leaders and other partners to develop training tools, curriculums and ensure smooth capacity development activities as per the plan,
Document lessons learnt, challenges and best practice and share lessons to the program manager and Districts Authorities and Partners
Assist the existing local structures in the preparation of data and information reports and all related documents on a monthly and/or quarterly basis,
Carry out other activities assigned by and mutually agreed with the line manager

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Bachelor Degree in Agronomy and development studies or equivalent related degree
Ability to maintain performance expectations in conditions with limited resources.
Strong interpersonal skills are vital.
Strong capacity building and facilitation skills
Ability to work with minimum supervision, and to deal with problems/issues promptly and efficiently
Excellent written and spoken Kinyarwanda and English, French is an added advantage
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
Experience Required:
3 years’ experience in the implementation of community-based programs, preferably in social protection, human nutrition or any other as mentioned above,
Prior experience in working with Farmer Field Life schools, training farmers in kitchen garden creation and management, cultivation of biofortified seeds, namely iron-fortified beans and orange flesh sweet potatoes.
Preferably experience working with Village Savings and Loan Associations
Management of field activities
Physical Demands:
Willingness to live and work in Burera district
Work Environment:
Field-based with required visits to Kigali as guided by the supervisor.
